Our vision for 2008 was Fresh ’08, A Year of New Beginnings

Fresh ’08, A Year of New Beginnings

This is certainly shaping up to be the case. When the Beemers moved to the UK fourteen years ago, it was because the Lord told them, ‘England is a nation FROM which to reach the Nations, and that it will happen both IN the country, and FROM the country’.

This has certainly come to pass in measure, but Pastor Matt shared in this most recent series, Let’s Go!, significant steps that are taking this ministry into its most influential time ever.

above: Hausa people, Northern Nigeria

Pioneering World Harvest Bible Church has been Phase I in God’s plan for Pastor Matt and Julie, and now WHBC is in the best place the church has ever been! Because of this it is now time for Phase II.

PHASE II is to contribute significantly towards the closure of the Great Commission by planting Ministry Training Centres and Churches in Islamic North Africa and the Middle East.

THE AIM is to dramatically impact the 1.4 billion people in the Islamic World with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Where we plan to go and how

In order to accomplish this, the Beemers will be moving their family to Abuja, Nigeria in May 2009 where they will start the first ministry training centre and possibly a church. The focus of this training centre will be to mobilise Nigerians into the unreached nations of North Africa and the Middle East. After this training centre gets off to a strong start, they will quickly be starting ministry training centres in places like Cairo, Istanbul, Dubai, and other key cities as the Lord leads. As Pastor Matt has said, ‘Our intention is to spend the rest of our lives doing all we can to bring Jesus to these parts of the World.’

Pastors Julie, Matt, Alan & Claire
Pastor Matt and Julie will remain as Founding Pastors and Overseers of World Harvest Bible Church, and International Directors of World Harvest Bible Training Centre. They desire to keep a flat in the city of Manchester and will be spending a good amount of time here, but their primary focus will be spent in other countries. Between now and May next year they will be making preparations for the move. This includes Pastor Alan and Claire Morton stepping up into the Senior Pastor role. There will be a review of this intended transition in October of this year, and should all be in agreement, Pastors Alan and Claire will officially be commissioned as Senior Pastors during our annual Destiny Week.

For more information and details about ‘Phase II, please listen to the three part series entitled, ‘Let’s Go!

Also, keep checking the website for articles and blogs. Pastor Matt and Julie will be using this website as their main tool for keeping everyone updated to the progress of their preparations.

This, like all Pastor Matt and Julie has done, is a faith adventure, and many have asked how they can help financially support their next step. You can email [email protected] for bank details to set up a standing order, or simply donate to WHBC designating your gift for ‘Phase II – Let’s Go!’. All financial support will be used to help Pastor Matt and Julie move their family, provide for the ministry team who will be going with them, set up the new ministry headquarters in Abuja, and help fund the launch of the first training centre.

I’ve wanted to speak to you personally, but with you and I being away we’ve missed each other – Please be sure to listen to the downloads from of the last two weeks and we’ll talk more in the next few days.  I believe our move will spark things off in others (a faith) to take bold steps… :o)

The second i stepped into the sanctuary barely two months ago, i was delighted i made the bold move and followed the leading of the holy spirit to visit. It was a challenge to leave my old church but there is something about the holy spirit that overwhelms you. I needed that and got it instantly when the service started, i’m still getting it quietly. Up until then i was okay with that but i see God was preparing me to witness what He had stirred up in you Pastors Matt and Julie.

Fearless, bold and radical faith! Just like in the bible, solely for the Kingdom. It’s gotta be pleasing to God.

I pray for favour and grace from the Lord with ALL men in abuja as you leave and that this time it takes 14 months and less to achieve and surpass what was achieved here in Jesus Name.

I hope the church will give us the opportunity to come together as a body in prayer and fellowship by setting aside time, just for this move to make Jeremiah 1:10 a reality.

Thank you!

Pastor Matt and Julie,

We are a sending church and you have proved that from the top to the bottom we should be ready to GO when the Lord leads. As you have said many times unless we have been told to stay, the commision is to GO. Both Karen and I are so excited about your news and we stand with you and are willing to help in any way possible. As the Lord leads we may even be able to spend some time with you.

YETS GO, Go Ye is our call

Go for it Pastors Matt and Julie!!

We are so pleased for you, and although we will miss you loads (even though you will often be around), we are truly excited about your continued adventure. The strategy God has put in your heart is of course awesome, and there is no doubt that like you said you will “bring Jesus to these parts of the World”. There is no greater joy than that!

Much love,

Mattias, Vanessa and Isak.

Run the race, thank God for what he has done but go from glory to glory. I will never forget how you picked me up, gave me the word and sent me and my family on our way to follow the call. That is now coming to pass. You might be away in miles but in the Spirit we are all one. Go preach and crush stupid under your feet!

Thank you guys, your obedience to come to Manchester impacted so many including nearly all of my immediate family members who got saved at WHBC, though they are based in different parts of the world. Thank you also for being obedient with this mission trip because as your church family i am sure by taking this next step you are allowing God to do even bigger things here in Manchester.

thats all i can say without shedding a few tears.. you guys are awesome. THEY HAD BETTER GET READY WHERE YOU ARE GOING big big things…when you are faced with language barriers, just let Pastor Julie do the talking that woman is a pure representation of God’s love i am sure anyone can understand that. I will pray that God’s love will be so outwardly shown on you PJ that people will just be overwhelmed by God’s love when they see you even before they hear your words.  xxx

Since we have heard about your heart’s vision and the passion of Yeshua in your entire being, we have not cease praying for you and the plan of God. I cant help but compare you both with our beloved brother Paul as he forged ahead in the purpose of God in his time. We are honoured to be connected to you and to be a partner with you in the next phase. Our pray is God will birth into our hearts how we can best help you and contribute our supply. We know that we should be a part of this in some way and we are open. We are willing to play our part either big or small, at home or abroad. We know that in this last hour, you are spot on regarding this vision. God’s heart is to reach the world and if we are not doing it, we are just marking time. If you feel that there is a specific part we are to play to facilitate this move, dont hesitate to call upon us.

Much Love

WOW! What an adventure…You (Matt and Julie) are a great example of faith, obedience and “not my will but thine be done”. It’s always an easier concept to preach than to live, especially when it requires such huge transitions and steps of faith that some may not understand. You are two of the most effective leaders I know and I’m looking forward to the day that Nigeria is being impacted as profoundly as (how God has used you in) Manchester. We’re with you!!!

Dear Pastor Matt and Julie and children,

Your life’s journey is more than a roadmap of countries you have, and will, minister in; it will be about the precious people that reside there.

It is about the network of family and friends and fellow-laborers who have connected with you to perform mighty things, with and for God.

This fabric of relationships and support is God’s doing and will ensure His Vision coming to pass.

We love you and thank God for you!

This has got to be about the most exciting and dynamic thing I have ever heard. This indeed is the Great Commission! We get one life to sow here on earth in obedience – and Pastor Matt and Julie are the embodiment of sowing and reaping in a profound and admirable obedience. They have sown for nearly fifteen years, so that those they envisioned in the early years and everyone at WHBC for the past decade can fulfil their personal destinies. It is entirely appropriate, therefore, that we, liberated to be all that God has called us to be through our dear Pastors oversight and care, should see their own dreams and lifetime’s calling fulfilled in this way, as we send our very best out with a glorious wave of support both spiritual, practical and financial, into God’s massive next phase in their Global ministry calling. If I were in Africa on the wrong side of God’s kingdom, I would be feeling the spiritual earth moving even now as this work is truly established in Heaven already, as it will be on the earth. What a privilege to watch – the stuff that dreams are made of! God Bless you and the family richly as you deserve. With all our love, the Kavanaghs :o)

My Dear Spiritual parents, Pastors Matt and Julie, JNB and EGB. As it has been said the news of your venturing to Abuja has finally sunk in and now it’s time for exciting openings ahead for what Awesome things God is going to do with and through you,and as someone remarked who said you can go. You don’t need our permission it is the calling on your lives and we know that we must be abedient to the call of God. It is true that also as you have made your move in the things of God it has most definately brought a stirring in the hearts of many myself included, and I for 1 am really excited and expectant of what God is going to say and do through me and Joe.
