Pastors Julie and Matt Beemer
Pastor Matt and Julie Beemer met and were married while attending RHEMA Bible Training Centre in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. After graduating they returned to Matt’s home church in Michigan to serve in supportive ministries.
In October 1994 the Beemers moved to Liverpool, England to work with Reaching The World, a missions organisation. It was during this time that Pastor Matt received the vision to pioneer World Harvest Bible Church in Manchester.
After fulfilling their two year commitment with Reaching The World, the Beemers moved to Manchester and immediately began preparations for the start of the church. On the 13th of April 1997 WHBC held its first Sunday morning service at the Copthorne Hotel, Salford Quays with just 17 people. 15 years later, the church has grown to be one of the largest and fastest growing churches in Greater Manchester.
In October 2008 they began the next exciting phase of their ministry, starting training centres and churches across North Africa and the Middle East. They released the leadership of WHBC to Pastors Alan and Claire Morton and after a short period back in the USA raising support moved to Abuja, Nigeria. In 2010 they launched Rhema Nigeria and Rhema Egypt, two new bible training training centers supporting the local church in its mission.
However, their passion for the UK remains and as the National Directors of Rhema UK & Ireland they were the catalysts for 4 new Rhema Training Centers being established in Manchester, Coventry, Aylesbury and Belfast. As this work grew they also released this leadership role to Pastors Kevin & Susan Fletcher to enable the ministry to keep on developing. They regularly visit the UK to share the exciting things God is doing around the world.
Pastor Matt remains as a trustee of WHBC helping to sharpen the vision and ensure that the church continues to fulfill its God-given purpose.
