A Season for Everything
Once a month for the past 6 months the youth missions team has bee meeting and training for our upcoming trip to the Philippines. We have covered everything from our concerns about the trip to effectively sharing the Gospel. The young people going on this trip have faithfully shown up and given their all during the training sessions. But as we enter July we will have our very last training before our trip. As the verse below says there is a season for everything. Our season of preparation is almost over. And we will be stepping into a new season. A season of going!
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1(NLV)">Ecclesiastes 3:1(NLV)
This new season is so exciting. I’d like to share with you a little about our journey. We will start on Wednesday August 8th meeting up at 6:00AM at Manchester airport. We will then board the plane traveling 6,809 miles to Singapore then another 1,506 miles to Cebu. Once in the Philippines we will boarding a ferry for a 2 hour journey to the island of Bohol.
When we are settled we will be travelling to a remote village where we will help with a 3 day Prayer, Faith and Healing Crusade. Throughout the 13 days we will be street witnessing at bus stations and local markets, passing out Gospels of John in the native language, going into schools speaking to children, and performing a skit that these teenagers created themselves. These are just a few of the ministry opportunities we will have in the Philippines.
These teenagers are not letting their age stop them from impacting this world for Christ. They are bravely stepping out leaving their friends, their families, and their homes to go where God has directed them. Most of them have no missions experience, no ministry training but they are willing and obedient to go.
As the leader of this group I am incredibly proud of these young people, and really excited for everything that God is going to do in and through them on this trip. I know that this mission trip will impact not just the Filipino people but every person going.
Thinking about everything that this group of teenagers are going to be doing I have come to one conclusion. These youth deserve our support both in finances and in prayer.
Thank you all your prayers and support. Without you we would not be able to do all that God has planned for us.
